The single stack non LDA models are acceptable.
The double stack models have mags that need tuning to feed reliably.
I have a P14-45 too. It is their factory custom gun. Works great. Shoots great. I have never had trouble with the mags feeding reliably. Single stack guns dont fit my hand correctly and when I picked up the double stack gun it just felt great.
I have owned a Para LDA. This is the only gun I have ever sold. It was nice until I realize I was not a fan of the double action. Not to say they arent nice....Just not for me.
A friend won a 14-45 at a match. The thing seemed like a tank. tight enough to be accurate and loose enough to run.
It is a bit heavy. especally with 14 rounds of 45 all stacked up. Be sure to wear a good belt so you dont end up "lookin like a fool w/ yo pants on the ground."
I personally wouldn't choose a para. My friend has one that has been gutted by a gunsmith and tricked out that is very nice, but from the factory, they leave something to be desired.
I bought a P-14 about ten years ago and it's never given me any problems. I've added a full length recoil guide and had a trigger job done. It's accurate enough for me and I like the idea of having fourteen .45 ACP. I suppose it all depends what you are going to use it for. The only pistol I'll ever need.
