Rifle Scopes Parallax adjustment, how critical is it? USO Setup

I'm thinking of replacing my USO with, of all things, another USO. Thinking of setting it up similar to what I have now less the brown anodizing and 44mm objective. I'm also questioning the adjustable objective. This is going on an M14 EBR type setup so thinking less is more at this point. I do have the ERGO setup on my current scope but always seem to forget to adjust it and still hit what I aim at out to 600+ yards.

Right now I'm thinking this:

SN-3 1.8-10X
37mm objective
EREK 1/10 MIL elevation
US #1 1/10 MIL windage, left handed
MIL MPR reticle
Red illuminated reticle

I'm undecided on the tube diameter, I like 35mm but it's not necessary, plus side I already have rings for it. I may go with a 34mm since there are a lot more ring options out there for it.

So, for a general purpose, desert, mountain and range rifle would this scope suffice? I'd really like to keep the weight down around 1.5 pounds at most which I know USO's are overbuilt and heavy so this may not be feasible.

Let me know your thoughts and ideas.

Guess you're right, better to have than to want. My other consideration is weight, not sure how much it adds. Anyone with a 37mm SN-3 with ERGO want to weigh their scope for me and let me know?
