So I'm about half way through with my .308 build and wanted some more experienced minds to take a looksie. This will be a hunting weapon for the most part but I have access to a range with 500 yard max shooting. I've been keeping an eye out on r/gundeals and thought I would include prices along with any shipping or tax paid. I just sent the upper off to Bexar Arms for lapping and have .001 shim stock in the mail because I don't want to use Loctite in my barrel extension. The fitment was a tiny bit loose to the upper so I want to squeeze as much accuracy as possible out of this weapon. Any critiques and suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Purchased:

Aero M5E1 Upper w/ 15" M-lock black $207.25
Aero M5 Lower bundle black $149.99
Aero Carbine Buffer Kit
Aero LPK Minus FCG
Wilson Combat 16" Ranger Fluted Match Barrel SS $283.05
Wojtek AGB .750 with Intermediate Length Tube $56.95

Considering Purchasing:

Larue MBT 2S Trigger
Magpul STR Stock in fde
Magpul MOE+ Grip in fde
Toolcraft BCG
VG6 Epsilon Brake

Charging Handle???? in fde

Geissele just had a big sale on their charging handles and they are as of better than most.

I would consider looking at a different BCG.

Why? Toolcraft makes BCG's for LOTS of gun manufacturers...They are as good as any, lifetime warranty and can get them in different coatings. Never had a problem with a Toolcraft BCG and exactly what I used in my 308 Budget build review here a few years ago....that was a sub 0.75moa shooter..

That is your call but there are much better BCGs available. Use whatever you feel that works best in your application.

Lolol. You still havent given any reason why they are MUCH BETTER. I know the answers, it's a trick question. Funny how you get all defensive and claim a pissing match when you've been asked WHY they are much better.. enlighten me with the technical reasons...

I base my comment on experience and the experiences of others. What do you base yours own. Enlighten me since you have decided to derail this thread. I am always open to learning new things. Also, name the companies that you know that Toolcraft produces bcgs for, if you don’t mind.

What is better? You have yet to answer the question. You keep answering questions with questions. You made the statement these ones you list are better. I've asked why? Better coatings. Better steel? Track record of failure? Accuracy? Nope.

It is well known, call them yourself and ask if they make OEM bcgs for many manufacturers. They will tell you yes and wont tell you who. They produce over 9000 bcgs per WEEK. The companies you list dont do a 1/4 that. They also have a long standing .mil BCG contract. Lifetime warranty and some of the smoothest machining you will find.

I base my comments on extensive experience and talking to these companies directly. I've used 50+ Toolcraft BCG's. I very well known shop highly regarded here on SH has been using them for years. No issues.

I have JP's, Young NM, RCA and they dont perform any better. Fact. Oh and JP doesnt make there own BCG's either by the way.

I am not going to call toolcraft and ask them a fucking thing because I am not the one making this an issue. I did not say their bcgs were not good I just suggested to look at others to make sure that is the direction the OP wanted to go. Based on my experience the MFGs I listed have much better finishes than the bcgs I have seen from toolcraft. In the reading I have done I have not come across anyone that has based a build on a Toolcraft bcg but that has to be taken for what it is.

I can regurgitate the same numbers from their website and they really don’t mean anything without verification.

You sound like you have a wealth of experience with Toolcraft and it has been good. Thanks for sharing.

I answered that in my last post and somehow you missed it. To save you some work the finishes are much better on the ones I mentioned, which I have all used, than the Toolcraft bcgs I have looked at. Limited as it maybe that is my experience.
