I have an older pair of Pentax DCF 8x42 binos that over the years became loose. Being the wannabe binocular mechanic that I am I took it upon myself to "tighten" the binos. Short end of the story I stripped the head off of one of the screws. Messed the binos up...called Pentax..told them what I had done and that the binos were well out of warranty...spoke with Matt P. in AZ...advised to send them in on in for a look...arrived back to me day before yesterday. They fixed the issue, cleaned the optic and brought it back to spec...all for a product out of warranty and for an issue that was customer created...gotta tell ya that I am impressed!!!...forgot to add that I did not pay a dime...they covered repair and shipping back to me in CT.....
