Phil Robertson

He was the father of the clan , right. I never much cared for the show , always seemed fake as hell , but did watch a few over the years, hell I might have even went to school with some of them , I went to 2nd 3rd and part of 4th grade in Monroe La , back in the early 60's.

All shows are faked…

Flew the family several times between Atlanta and Monroe. Every one of them, Phil especially, were gracious and pleasant and approachable by everyone. Watching them walk down the C concourse at the height of their popularity was a spectacle. They all spoke and did photos and signed things with a smile. I have nothing but good feelings toward that bunch…

The old Duck Men tapes is where it’s at. Nothing fake about those, and great entertainment.

Damn right those old VHS tapes are gold. Convinced me I could indeed dip Copenhagen and blow a duck call at the same time.

The Duck Commander show.....nope. No real old school duck hunters would like that for TV mess. Good on them though for making a bunch of cash and Phil was certainly the real deal his whole life. I will say that show made too many high school kids in my area think they were a duck hunter. Lost several good swamps to a landowners grandson or nephew thinking he was now a duck hunter after buying $2000 worth of Sitka stuff and a Duck Commander sticker.

Phil is home .
I owe a debt of gratitude to him . In my quest to find peace and live as a Christian I often looked to and listened to him . Used to think how blessed he was to work and be financially successful . Enough so to be a peaceful Godly man . One day it dawned on me that I do
n't need millions of dollars to be a peaceful Godly man . Put God first and it'll work out . Read the Gospel . Reflect on the word . Everything is an opportunity to become closer or more distant with God .
Thank you for your servant Phil Robertson Father . Thank you for the witness he gave and example he set . I pray this in Jesus name
Amen .

Fun read.

A friend from Shreveport played with him at La Tech. He was a tight end.
He claimed Phil wasn’t a Terry Bradshaw. 😬
He said he was obsessed with hunting ….not so much with football. He went to a few reunions , said he was humble.

I don't think anyone cares whether not he was a good football player. When it's all said and done, was he or was he not a good man and did he have a heart after God?

I would hope, at the end of my days, people would say I was a good & Godly man rather than what my accomplishments were.

I bought Duckmen 2 from Phil about 30 years ago at Point Mouillee when I was a teen. I wore out that VHS and learned to kill cripples by biting them in the head.

About 25 years ago I bought a duckcall and hat from him, he signed the call and hat for me. The call is still on my laynard. He signed the hat "Bite em in the head, Phil".
Phil is a legend, RIP

I knew Phil’s passing was coming but still sad to hear. 2024 for me personally was the toughest in my life by far. I listened to “Phil in the Woods” and “Unashamed” on Blaze TV for years but watched them again last year along with reading two of his books.

With the exception of Billy Graham, never have I listened to a man who walked the walk like Phil. Even more impressive was his transformation from a follower of the evil one to a disciple of Christ.

If you don’t know the story, Phil was living in Arkansas and owned a bar. He was a serial cheater, user of drugs, drunkard, and agnostic to the word of God. His sister was trying to bring him to Christ but Phil would not give up his love of the world. He left his wife and kids to wallow in the worldly pleasures of the evil one.

Phil convinced his sister to bring her pastor to his bar in Arkansas where he learned about grace and the eternal word of Christ.

Ultimately Phil chose the cross over this world. From that moment on Phil lived his life as a disciple of Christ spreading the word of eternal life. Phil was unashamed of spreading the word of Yeshua.

Rest easy brother…there is no more pain or heavy lifting now, you have achieved the will of the master. I look forward to meeting you in the clouds and will always be grateful for your example.
