Phrobis M9 pistol

This is my Phrobis M9 (Beretta 92FS) pistol. My understanding, and I may be wrong, is that in the mid 1980's there were reports of M9 slides breaking. I don't want to get into the debate on that one. I don't know how true the reports were. The Navy SEALS requested a reinforced slide from Phrobis Gunworks for their M9's. I hadve read that several dozen to maybe a hundred blue steel slides were produced. When I traded for this gun in the mid 90's I was told only two of these stainless steel guns were made. There was mine and the other one was lost. Does anyone have any more information on these rare guns?View attachment Pistol 2.jpg

Anyone who saw a service M9 knows they broke by the ejection port but would keep operating as it wasn't exactly critical.

Google says they were all varying prototypes. So there is likely zero real info left now.

It's only worth money to the right collector that really wants it. Otherwise it's just an M9 with a cool slide.
