I bought a tally 20 moa base for my 700 338 xcr but it wont fit. it is a long action the holes line up just fine but the allen screws are not large enough in diameter. And the ones that i have that are big enough will not fit through the base. Thanks to all
You need a base with #8-40 screws such as Badger Ordnances P/N 306-07-8 Long action, with #8-40 screws, 20 MOA cant, or open up the holes in that Tally base to accept the correct screws.
If you are going to shoot long distance and have a scope with plentry of elevation you should also consider more than 20 moa cant. Murphy Precision custom made a 40 moa base for my 338. ( turn around time and price were impressive!)
