Just picked up a Tikka T3 lite .223. wanting to put it in a chassis. Its going to be a trainer type rifle but adjustability would be nice for when my kid is old enough to start shooting. Trying to keep it semi light in weight. Ive got a few MDT's and love them but kinda wanting to change it up. I prefer the hand position of a chassis like MDT over a traditional stock (like a Remington 7400 for example). I looked at XLR a little and KRG Bravo(not sure how they feel compared to a MDT?). I'd like to keep the chassis/buttstock all under $800-$900. Open to other options as well . Thanks.

Honestly the only other option worth considering, IMO, is an MPA. You can find them here in the classifieds all the time for $7-800. They have all the adjustability and features of an MDT. Depending on your son's LOP you may need to spring for their youth buttstock if the adjustability in the standard stock still won't go small enough for him. But even after dropping that $150, you'd still be within your budget. Good luck!
Take a look at PDC Custom. I've been running them for 5+ years now, and actually had a little input on the competition models. I'm currently running the Gen5 Competition, and I've been really happy with it. Weight is reasonable, lots of features for the money, and they're available for Tikka. The Tikka inlet isn't listed on the website, but it's available if you contact Craig directly. He also has an option for a youth sized chassis with reduced LOP and a reduced reach from the grip to the trigger - something that's overlooked on some of the other youth offerings out there.
I like the looks and weight of the BA Stealth ultra lite. It says for Remington/ rem clone action. I’m assuming that include the tikka T3x..
No, the Tikka does not use a Remington clone footprint.
