True, that, unless you consider the case the piston.
Studied the drawings intently years ago and concluded that those are roller locked, recoil unlocked, delayed blowback actions. One of the few .308 cases I ever saw with a totally torn off extractor rim had been fired in one of those. Once. Its position relative to the firing line led me to believe it *had* been ejected.
