Plastic Dust/dirt Rifle Case/Protection?

Here is the use/application; imagine taking your rifle out into conditions that resemble 3” of fine ground flour everywhere. But instead of flour, it’s dirt.

Padding protection is not required. Looks and color are immaterial. The only objective is to keep fine dirt off the rifle.

I am trying to find a durable/reusable plastic liner that reasonably fits.

Once upon a time, the airlines had a roll of durable narrow plastic at the check-in counter and used it for snow skis. The Military Channel has scenes in which weapons were protected in a like fashion.

Does anyone have a recommendation as to where and what I could use?

Thanks!

..

Really nasty environment?

You need to get it there, and then when there, your taking it out and it is going to get covered right? When you do use it, it will become a mess, right?

And when you leave there, the last thing you want to do it put all that crap inside something as nice as a TAB bag along with your weapon, right?

So you need this if you are just going to tear it off.

Now you are at $2. So your going to buy a bunch of them and then put your weapon in that and into something as nice as the stuff TAB makes.

Or if your not going to use it on location for a while, these and you can leave it in for 5 years.

At $5 take your rifle in this with another one in the bag for when you come back. Throw THAT in something as nice as TABs stuff.

Bingo!

The Codura has been tried in different designs and it got coated in dirt and it became part of the problem. I have tried some denim lined with goat leather and after a couple of trips to the field, opening/closing the bolt would make your teeth hurt.

I am going to try the polypropylene…if it makes multiple trips great with a clean rifle I can buy a whole roll of this stuff…

Happy New Year!
