was at a rimfire shoot this weekend. I saw a man sitting on his tripod like it was a perch. he had some sort of a plate on top of it. I cant do that but Im curious about the plate that he used. It could be used to hold a bag or even as a very small table? Just wanted to know where he got something like that. Sorry but I dont have any pictures of it

One option but there’s a lot out there.

I made one from a Target cutting board and some non-skid tape, they don't have to be complicated or expensive to be effective.

I bought two items from Amazon:
a 6x12 aluminium plate. Smoothed out the edges and painted it. On the bottom i drilled and tapped a hole for a ARCA plate screw.
Attached the ARCA plate to the aluminum plate.
Atrached the whole thing to my tripod..

Nutin fancy, but gets the job done for sure

If you don’t already have an ARCA plate to mount on your rifle, you may want to look at Area 419. One side clips to rifle and the other side has an ARCA rail that clips into your tripod head so you can use it as a table to set a bag on.

@Badjujuu thanks for the pictures and the idea! I ordered the same piece of aluminum and I had a cheap arca rail here at the house. Also had a can of “spray on” truck bed liner which worked out great as it left a texture for the bag.

I use this.. and then can use any sort of gamer plate, or whatever. Simple double adaptor.

Edit. My Aussie webstore. Mods delete if you feel the need.

I have two of these, they are excellent and weigh nothing.
Flip my Armageddon Gear mini plate pro bag upside down.
When not in use, live in the bino harness.
