Night Vision Please help with tube.

I just purchased this pvs-14, it's supposed to be an autogated pinnacle tube, but doesn't appear to be marked. The image seems good, but what do I know. Is there any way for me to identify this and figure out if I have been burned without totally disassembling it? I can't figure out how to upload a pic. Thanks in advance.

I removed the ocular lens and there is no markings on the front of the tube.

Uh....I'm new to this game myself but I wouldn't open things up like that. Unless that is a simple task. I dunno. There are some very knowledgeable folks here in the NV field. I suspect they will be along shortly to clue you (and me ) in. Did you buy from a reputable source? Those things ain't cheap. Check out Delta 4-3, TNVC, or Pete at I2 Technologies. It doesn't appear to be a Pinnacle tube. When you turn it on can you hear a faint high pitched whine? You should see the s/n on a Pinnacle tube when you pull the ocular lens off, as well as the branded logo (ITT/Excelis)
