Please talk me out of a new handgun, the Glock 19x

There is "no big deal" about a Glock. That's the point. They just work. They are extremely easy and simple to maintain, right down to the last single part. And the after market support for them is astoundingly plentiful. Rich and vibrant. If you don't like a Glock, don't use a Glock. I never understand what the "big deal" is about taking such pleasure in running Glocks down. I think it is just kind of stupid. But then again, so is most of the Internet.

I was expressing my personal opinion on the Glock, I simply do not care for it. You may love it an that is fine.

Have you handled the CZ P-09, made me move on from the CZ-75. I wanted something that de-cocked and my 75 was the single action version, not the BD. The CZ made holding a 1911 feel like wearing a thong backwards. I still have my 1911s and just started caring one agin sometimes. 6 days out of 7 I grab my CZ. I don't want to have to fumble for the safety if I ever need it.

It's the Indian, not the arrow! For years I've shot and competed with 1911s. Then reluctantly got into the plastic craze. Have and competed with XDMs, M&Ps, CZs, PPKs, and finally Glocks. With the Glock platform, you throw in a TT connector, a little polishing and a set of Dawson sights, grip it like it owes you money, watch the front sight and just shoot. The dam things just run! Don't think you could go wrong with the Glock platform. And who doesn't need another gun!

The extra mass over the standard G19 will increase the BC of your pants falling down for sure... Faster with more Energy, LOL
Botom line, if you can not get over your own snobbiness for or against glocks, you'll never have the experience to justify the snobbiness.

I used to have a P-07 (same as P-09 slightly smaller). Did not care for the grip (too thin). Sold it and bought a P-01, found nirvana. My first CZ (and still have it) was a 75BD. I prefer decocker models but lowering the hammer on the non-decocker DA/SA CZs is easy and safe if you follow the correct technique.
No. Some arrows are crooked. They are a pain in the ass to get them to fly where they need to go. Glocks and SIGs are those crooked arrows, for me.
There is no point in wasting time and ammo getting used to Glock's fucked up idea of a grip design and too small trigger guard or getting used to SIG's fucked up idea of slide release location when I can pick up a CZ or a S&W revolver and shoot them without thinking about it.

With them my pistol measures right about 1.25" thick at the wides point of the grip.

Well, I can't speak for others here, but my non-paper target experience with Glocks include shooting my dad's G26 underwater and somewhat recently shooting a stocked G18. Is that experience enough for your all mighty self? Hell, just because Glocks suck and their owners are annoying doesn't mean I'm gonna pass up the opportunity to shoot one.
