Plz help…sudden occurrence of tarnished brass

I’ve had the same wet tumbling process for years. Even the same exact bottle of Lemishine. Wet tumble 1hr with hot water, squirt of Dawn, and 1/4 teaspoon lemishine. Been working for years.

For AR cases I tumble before and after sizing (just to get lube out of the necks). All of a sudden, cases are coming out horribly tarnished after the SECOND tumbling only. I’m using Hornady unique wax (same tub). What gives? Same exact soap, different bottle is only difference. Is it the heat in my garage? Has been a horrible summer.

You water change? Our water here in town is all over the place on how it smells and taste. We have bleach and chlorine in our water it is horrible sometimes

Go buy a gal of filtered water and try that to see if it goes away

No but I am on city water so may have changed.

Yea I need to. It’s just so weird that it’s only on the second wash and not the first.

You just need to shoot more. Load it and shoot it before it has a chance to tarnish...
