Looking to pick-up some affordable extra 10rd mags for .308 and .223.. both guns are bolt-guns w/ Badger M5, I currently am using Accurate and AI mags, but I would like some extras that run good.. Which model of mag do I need? Also are Hexmags an option for me?? They look kinda cool.. Does anybody make a +2 or +4 extension for polymer mags? I would appreciate any pros and cons on running polymer mags too..Thanks guys

The polymer mags (pmags) run great as long as your COAL is under 2.870 and run better with polymer tipped bullets if run that long than with HPBTs, especially something pointed like a RDF. They tend to scratch up the front of the mag and then bind up. I have buddies who have run both of the +2 extensions that I know of for the pmags and they both had reliability issues. I switched from Pmags to Accurates with the Seekins +2 and I like them much better. Much longer COAL and run flawlessly.

I had to do some minor fitting to get the PMAG to work. The feed lips were too tall and a little narrow causing the bolt to drag on them. A couple of minutes with a file solved the problem.

PMAGS work fine with factory ammo and reloads of the proper length. Generally, if one experiences feeding problems with a PMAG, it's the gun out of spec, not the magazine. Everybody and their brother are making AR'S these days, usually not a problem with the AR 10 but with 15's, holy moley, I can't believe the crap some people are churning out.

I have had zero issues running the PMAGS in 243 (105gr VLDs at 2.80) and 308 (175 FGMM, and lots of other factory loads). However, I also have a preference for the Accurates with the Seekins +2.

I also can appreciate the Accurates w/Seekins +2, but I can't afford 5 of them for Saturday range-time Thanks again for all the info guys, I'm gonna pick a few P-mags up

I have about 10 of the ten round 308 Pmags and about 20 of the twenty round 308 Pmags. They all perform 100% and they are the only mags I use for my DPMS LR308 and my RPR 308. I've never ever had a problem with any of them. I also have about 30 20 and and 20 30 round AR 15 Pmags. They are my only brand of mags now.
