I had a WTB ad, some responded in a PM with an email addresss to reach out to (yep, sketchy), I reached out via email got a very Scammy reply, went to look at my PM's and the one from the person was gone-----------------.

Yes, they can choose to “leave” the conversation. I believe when that is done, the conversation disappears from view.
