Re: Pocket power...
While I'm partial to 10mm, as it is simply badass, the 357sig is a great, great cartridge for CC.
I've shot a G26 quite a bit, and they shoot like a dream, but I really like the idea of more power. The G27 does not shoot like a dream for me. As an avid pistol shooter, I can handle the 27 ok, but it is just too snappy for me to really like. I got a great deal on a 27, and I bought a 33 barrel for it.
The G33 is perfect. The recoil is much smoother than the 27. The 33 has "more" recoil than a 26, but it totally lacks the snap/bark of the 27.
The 357's performance is outstanding.
Only trouble is it is NOT a versatile cartridge, and is not a very reloadable one. Bullet choices are limited due to required shape of the bullet, and what weight bullets perform well with the case. Essentially, there is only the Speer Gold Dot 125JHP. That's ok though, as that loading is absolutely superb.
Be particularly careful with 357 in regard to bullet setback. The neck is so short, it doesn't retain bullets well. Two trips up the feedramp and into the chamber is often too much for this cartridge.
Enjoy.
