POI and velocity question

Got back to the range today to shoot some more of my reloads.

69gr smk's out of a colt 6920
I shot my load of 69 gr smks over 24gr of varget with results that made me happy. Roughly 1-1.5" at 100yds 10 shot groups with about 8 of the 10 easily going into an inch with 2 fliers.

My question is about poi. These reloads shoot about 1 moa higher than privi 69gr match rounds which I am trying to match. Does the higher poi mean I am getting more velocity from my reloads or just a difference in bullets?

77gr smk's out of an SDM clone

I shot my 77gr load out of my sdm clone ar that easily shoot SSA 5.56 77gr otm rounds under an inch for 10 shot groups. The first batch of reloads was with 22.5gr varget and shot exactly poi with the SSA with a nice group hovering right under an inch with one low flier that I'm guessing had a slightly off powder charge.

Next batch was with 23gr of varget and I got roughly the same size base group just under an inch but had about 3 fliers, 2 high and one low putting the group right around 2" total for 10 shots.

Does anyone have any idea what kind of velocity I am getting with 22.5gr of varget out of a 20" barrel? I am thinking I am going to stick with 22.5gr for the time being, but will this load get out to 700 yds? I've taken the SSA rounds to 700yds with 18moa drop.

If you're going to try to duplicate loads exactly, you need to do more homework. Take a few rounds apart and examine the powder type. Weight the bullets and see what they weigh and what design they are. Lastly, if you are going to EXACTLY duplicate a load, you really HAVE TO HAVE a chronograph. Shoot in groups of 10 for record. Fewer numbers can give you undependable numbers. Stick with the SD= Standard Deviation of the groups rather than the Extreme Spread.

I am not trying to duplicate these loads exactly just yet. I am just getting into reloading and trying to start out easy.

What Im mainly wondering is if 22.5gr of varget will get to 700yds with a 77gr smk with roughly the same drop as the SSA load.

Also does poi being higher indicate a higher velocity or are there other facts that play into poi for two similar bullets?

I plan to buy a chrony as my next piece of reloading equipment to really start to check velocities.
