Gunsmithing Polishing a chamber

Building a 7saum AI and waiting on the barrel. Have a local gunsmith who is going to let me cut (help with) the chamber. I really want to polish the chamber up really nice when we are done. What's the best way to do this?

Unless something happens during chanbering that causes large scratches or worse, I wouldnt worry about polishing. In fact, too smooth of a chamber can cause problems as the brass needs something to grab a hold of when the round fires.

You can cross hatch with some 320 on a wooden dowel to remove any slight reamer marks that were left.

With that being said, if it's cut right with a good reamer, oil and proper speed and feed, it really shouldn't even need a polish.
