Re: Polishing a turd

And it's a .380!

I was shooting next to an older gentleman and his lovely daughter a few months ago. They were shooting several pistols and revolvers. In stark contrast to the 1911 and S&W revolvers they were shooting, was a Hi-Point!

I asked him what he thought of it, relative to his other, clearly more aesthetically appealing and expensive handguns.

He replied that while he knew it was fugly and inexpensive, the damn thing was among his most accurate and reliable pistols!

Not for me and damn sure a beastly, top heavy, clunky looking, thing but if it can be used to protect someone on a tight budget, so be it.

Re: Polishing a turd

I have one in .45. Bought it when I was poor and living in a bad part of town. It is a great shooting gun. I have put at least 400 rounds through it without a single malfunction. I have even trusted my life to it when I caught a crackhead breaking into my truck in the middle of the night. They may be ugly but real beauty is in its function and value. I wouldn't go as far as trying to make it pretty though. I sprayed my grips with truck bed lining.
