I do buy the stuff I can. However, my Dad's retirement job is 30 hours a week behind the gun counter. Makes it really simple to just ask him and he'll check the distributor prices and let me know how he can do.
It is insane sometimes when companies drop product. I'll find a sale online that's cheaper than his distributor price. Even working there with a employee price of cost, he still orders specially stuff online for himself.
His transfer fees are fair. If he can't get one they'll do the transfer for free. If he can order one but you have one shipped there he gives you a 10% transfer fee, since he only marks up 12% in the store.
Many times it's cheaper to have him order than the sale price.
Seems basic, but I can't think of many stores that have had a quality selection of cleaning supplies- seems pretty silly, that you can drop sizable dollars on a rifle, but there is usually only a tiny selection of Hoppes bore scratchers and etchers, and eleven calibers of bore snakes...
