Rifle Scopes Polymer Scope Level?

Is there a market for a high value polymer scope level? My work may have the capability to produce this. I don't have an exact dollar figure amount right now, but because polymer is less expensive to produce, the user end price will be lower than current offerings.

My current idea is that it would just clamp on via hex screws to your optic and would have the bubble offset so that a right or left handed shooter could see it based on their preference.

But before I jump into production, I would like to ask a few things.

1) What features do you look for in a scope level? I read some reviews about the Vortex, and while many like it, there can be some improvements.
- Less bulky (not sure if possible with polymer)
- Snag-free

2) What style vial do you prefer and why? There's the standard one with 2 lines, as well as ones that are subdivided with many lines. Is there any benefit to one over the other?

3) A Vortex goes for about $35. How much less expensive would this polymer version have to be for you to switch over?

4) What kind of abuse would is this scope level expected to endure for the price level?
- I could send some samples out to certain well respected members on this board for a true T&E.

5) If I were to produce this, it would be MADE IN TEXAS! No chi-com stuff here. However, this will have an affect on cost.

Re: Polymer Scope Level?

No such thing as to much competition. You may be on to something in the selection of bubbles. You could give someone a choice or have them removable to select the best for what they want.

I could see someone getting really confused with having that many lines on the bubble but then again someone would end up putting it into their software (IE: 5 degree left cant at 300 yards will will give 6 inches low 7 inches left impact=compensate X clicks) you get what I mean.

The closer you can make it to the scope with "stuff" around it will protect it more. The thing about strength is the time it gets broken will be pulling it out of a case, bag, sheath, or safe not while using it.

I have always thought a good level could mount to a rail, inside a tube, and be just like a stereo cabinet door latch. You know the magnetic kind that you push in and it slides out so you can see it and then you push in again and it is inside the protective tube. That would give 100% protection, 100% visibility when shooting, and not have a bunch of levers or thumbscrews that take a bunch of time to tighten (or forget to tighten). Patent pending. Just kidding.
