Portable Electronic Devices For Fieid Use???

I want to get a device that will calculate balistic in the field and was coonsidering going with either an ITouch or an IPhone.

Then I read about the new Shooter apps for the Droid platform.

Any ideas which system is better and with regards the Droid platform, ie any any particular phone device recommended?

I am looking at the Archos 5 internet tablet which was one recommended in the other thread and I like the looks of that, but is there anything that is waterproof/toughened on the market?

I know I can do the Otterbox solution, but I would prefer a more rugged device. I used to go through "ordinary" cell phones in months until I got a Samsung Solid and I would ideally like a device as waterproof/tough as that...

I Have the moto droid with a ballistics app and it works great! uses gps to get alt., temp, pressure, ect. it is great.

iPhone...It does a really good job. Not to mention its unstoppable on the market right now.
