Im installing a Badger Ordnance 35 MOA rail on a Sako TRG 42 and I've managed to strip the two rear mou ting screws. I removed one of the front screws and tried it in the rear hole and it didn't catch either yet it tightened fine back in the front hole so Im worried that I've managed to bugger the threads in the receiver, not just the threads on the screw.

I've contacted Badger and they are sending out new screws. If in fact I've messed up the receiver threads what is the preferred solution? Is it opening up the receiver holes for a larger size screw which would require opening up the mount holes on the rail too? Or is there a better solution?

+1^ I bit the bullet and went with the Spuhr on my TRGs this year and couldn't be happier except wallet is a lot lighter. You could also go with the Sako TRG factory 3 ring mount which I feel to be a solid system.

Sako receivers are pretty tough. They heat treat the dickens out of their actions. I'd be willing to guess the receiver is fine. That being said it probably wouldn't hurt to chase the threads with a fresh tap. Use a good oil when doing this and it'll help straighten out any folded/dinged up threads.

Good luck. Be patient while you work.
