I live in the magical part of Montana where they're considered predators (no season or limit) on one of the highway, and a game animal on the other.

I'd bet we have more than 10000 if they say it's 1000.

They're cross breeding enough I've shot a few impressive coyotes.

Their range is crazy to. They had one collar travel from Yellowstone to Arizona and back a few times. 6 months after the release in the park I saw one on the ND border. Rancher shot it, fish and game confiscated it and told him to shut up about it.
