IMR4064.....all time favorite. 42.2 with 168. And 41.8 with 175. Both in Winchester brass, Federal match primer out of 25" Shilen barrel 1:10 twist, super accurate.
45.6 gr IMR 4064 with a 175 SMK. 2730 fps out of my Sig Sauer SSG 3000 with 23.5" barrel and 1:11 twist. Straight out of IMR basic reloading manual. Love it!!
1000 yards all day long with 34.5 MOA elevation and 1 moa left for spin drift with no wind. Supersonic to 1290 yards
Also 42 gr IMR 8208 XBR with 175 SMK's is a good load. 39.5 moa elevation at 1000 yards
I just started doing testing and an OCW with my 308 and IMR 4064. I have tested with a 20" Bartlein...I used my MagnetoSpeed V3 Speed Chronograph to develop the results.
Series 2 Shots: 10 Min 2693 Max 2740 Avg 2713 S-D 15.7 ES 47
When I took out my 24" Rock I took it to 44.4 grains and was just under 2750fps with my OLD CED Chrony so I will have to check it out with my MagnetoSpeed V3. BTW, I am loving my new Chronograph if you can't tell. Awesome device. Anyways, I like IMR 4064 as it seems pretty temp insensitive but I will know for sure this summer when it gets hotter.
I've tested it at 30° and at 77° and it Seems to have some Variationbut not too bad. 8208 has NO Variation but slightly less accurate. also I am seating my bullets -020 off the lands with a . 001" neck grip so pressure is not as high.
I bought a ar 10 in 308 and bought a box of 168 grain a max hornady bullets . Put one bug hole at 100 yards with 5 shots . (No joke) Took me a year to figure out the load.
168 gr. A max 42 gr. Imr 3031 C.O.L 2.8 F.P.S. 2700
