I think the heading says it all. This is a new rifle and it hasn't yet been fired. I am waiting on a set of Burris XTR Signature Rings.
I will be shooting 100 to 600 yards.

Many thanks for your feedback.

42.8gn of h 4895, cci 200, lapua or hornady brass, just shy of mag length has been a real good shooter in everything I have tried it in. Its not a speed demon but its easy on brass and accurate.

That's similar to what I've tried in a variety of rifles with good results: 42.5gr of H4895, CCI 220, Federal brass, SMK 168, 2.795" OAL.
Obviously, all caveats apply with regards to proper reloading practices.

43.5gr of IMR-4064, and 168 (SMK or my new favorite, Speer Gold dot - it has genuinely effective terminal performance). I prefer CCI 400/BR-2 Primers, and Starline large primer .308 brass.

This load was suggested to me as a 308/168FGMM Clone, and has been my goto 308 load ever since. Speer Load Data shows a max of 45.5gr of IMR-4064 with this bullet.

I have new components for 250 cartridges queued up right now.

IMR-4064, RE-15, and Varget are all pretty proven performers in .308. Chances are if your gun will shoot at all, you'll find the node with one of those powders.

I've had good luck with 43 - 44 grains Varget lately under 165 - 168 grain bullets. However, the old 'sleuthing the FGMM' post had a lot of IMR-4064 data. My old DPMS LR308B is an absolute tack driver with 41.8gr IMR-4064 (almost FGMM load), but with the 175SMK...it was about 3/4 minute with the 168gr equivalent, but I abandoned those in favor of the heavier bullets after seeing the results.

I load my semi-autos to 2.800 COL, bolt guns to 2.810.

The good and shitty parts of reloading. 308 are that there are a dozen powders that can work well...but one can easily get carried away with experimenting too much.

To avoid the 308/175SMK rabbit hole, try 42.2gr of IMR-4064.

I abandoned the 175 and heavier when I moved here to the the High Lonesome (Dragoon Mountains, Cochise County AZ).

The density altitude here at 4500ft essentially gives the 168's an effective BC right about the same as the 175 had back where I used to live at 800ft.
