powder question

Re: power question

Keep it cool and dry and it'll last a long time. I have some powder that's 30 years old that I'm not afraid to use. A chemist friend of mine said temperature above 90*F would start the break down process. The longer it stays hot at a time the more it breaks it down. Ever wonder why the military sells surplus? Or why ammunition manufacturers store there large lots in underground bunkers?

Re: power question

If it breaks down it may have an acrid odor (not to be confused with alcohol, ether, or acetone smell) and a reddish brown fume, according to Alliant.

Same here. Keep it cool and dry and it will last a long time.
