When I received my scope, a <span style="font-weight: bold">Premier Reticles Heritage 5-25x56 scope</span> I did not receive a manual, a spec sheet, a warranty card...nothing, zip, nada. I took possession of a scope (<span style="font-style: italic">very</span> well packed), and a box. That's all I got. Who at Premier Reticles should I contact to secure the missing items? I'd like a few questions answered, like how much elevation in Mils is available? It looks like a double-turn knob, but, from the zero, I can only turn it 24 mils. Is the available travel 48 mils, or, has it come pre-set like the S&B 5-25x56? If so, where is it set? Can I change the zero stop? What kind of warranty comes with the scope? Shouldn't I have to register the scope with PR, or are they going to fix every PR regardless of who owned it before, and who owns it now, like Leupold? It's superb glass and an exceptionally impressive scope from front to back, but when I cough up 2K+ I don't think it's too much to ask the questions I've asked and get a reasonable reply. Am I out of line here?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Re: PR 5-25x56

They have are 24 to 27mil on the double turn. I know on the 15mil RAD turret they are now 14mils. So they may have changed the 27mil RAD turret to 24mils. The 0-Stop is preset. There should be a spec sheet but not a warranty card they will fix it no matter who owns it.

Magnumdood,

the 5-25x Heritage has ~30 mils of total internal travel, so with 24 mils of free elevation, your scope is pre-set for a ~30MOA base.
Now in case you have for example a 45MOA base and hit the zero stop when sighting in the rifle, you just loosen the lever lock, turn the knob ~45 mils counterclockwise and fasten the lever lock again. Now you can dial back to the zero stop and you will have the full 27 mils available that the double turn knob will allow. Same thing on the single turn versions, if you hit the zero stop during zeroing-in, loosen the lever lock, dial back however much additional travel you need, close the lever lock and dial to the zero stop. This is the way to "reset" the zero stop.

Mike,

both single and double turn versions are 15 mils per revolution, but the zero stop pin takes up some space so you don't get the full 15 mils of elevation on the single turn. Since the zero stop mechanism in the double turn version is combined with the double turn indicator, there is a slightly bigger loss of usable range and thus it is labeled "27 mils".

The lifetime warranty applies to the scope itself. No paperwork needed.
