Precision Rifles.....show em!!

Took out one of my TacOps yesterday, it was put away clean last year. I swabbed out the oil from the barrel and chamber and put 5 on paper at 200 yards. Not too shabby.....

I've had this rifle for almost 3 years, taken it to the range on multiple occasions, did a 3-day precision rifle course at Sig Sauer, and I FINALLY was able to get some decent enough photos of the target to use the Ballistic-X software this past weekend.

I realize that this particular rifle is not one of the best, and has a very small following within the shooting community. Being that this is my first bolt-action, I thought that using this rifle, flawed as it may be, would help me to become a better shooter in the future. I can honestly say that I have learned quite a bit, both at the range and on this forum, and had a good time doing so.

Very nice rifle! I've been actually thinking of something similar with a MDT LSSG3. A guy I was shooting with last week had the Long shot bag rider which I loved. I'm confused on what action to choose, he had one that came with a short eject but I forgot to ask him what brand it was.

I chose the ARC CDG action because it is reasonably priced and it has the pivoting bolt handle which gives you additional leverage if you end up with a hard to eject case. It also has a 70 degree throw which makes for a shorter bolt throw. Another feature I like is the adjustable trigger hanger which allows you to easily position the trigger to get the cock on bolt close set correctly. There are quite a few good actions available and everyone has their own idea on what is best.

Just put a few rounds on paper and it shoots really nice. Only had time to run out for a few rounds at lunch. Putting more on paper this weekend if nothing comes up.

Edit:
Got out at lunch and ran 2 x 5 round groups at 200 yards. Magpul bipod is a bit sloppy but, it’s what I have on hand. A rear bag would obviously tighten these groups up. Probably need to look at an Atlas or something better for the bipod. Very happy with the work Manzella put into this.
