I have a Premier Heritage 3-15x50, and when I have it on 15x, the image becomes distorted in a sort of fish lens effect. I'm not sure what it's called but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced it with their Premier and if it's something I should worry about.

Re: Premier 3-15x50 Issues

About a month. I got it used, but was told it was sent back to Premier to have it checked out and everything was ok. The guy said he never used it. When I got it, it was in perfect condition, not even a slight ring mark.

He never used it but sent it back to be fixed and now its looking fish eyed, I'd say something's fishy. PR will have a record of any work done and why if you call them and give them the SN.

Were there ring marks on the scope tube?

The previous owner mightve tightened the rings down a little tooooo much or tightend one ring at a time...idk.

Regardless I'm sure Premier will help you out.

Yeah I thought it was weird too, but I have all the paperwork and such. I just sent an email to PR. I hear they have great customer service, and I'm hoping this will all get fixed soon since the weather is finally warming up here! I want to get out and use this thing!

You might try describing it as a $2000+ kaledoscope that needs to be repaired immediately!

Set the paralex to infinity, max magnification, point the scope at the sky and adjust the ocular until the reticle is nice and crisp, I was having almost the same issue, I readjusted the scope to my eyes and the problem went away.

Done and done!

Re: Premier 3-15x50 Issues

I had a similar problem with the same scope. I called Premier and described the problem. Come to find out, my rings were torked slightly too tight and the focus/paralax was not free to move.

I loosened the rings slightly and it works perfectly.
