I am considering building a rifle useing as the basis the following parts.
1-Bat Tactical action (I'm on list for one of first 30)
2-AICS stock and chassis
3-28" Kreiger barrel with 1:10 twist, 1.250" x .900"

What I am trying to figure out is whether I will be able to move 5 x 25 x 56mm Preimer scope mounted in 1" Badger rings to the rifle I would like to build without removing the ring caps. I want to be able to just remove bolts that attach to rail.

Currently the scope is mounted on trg-22 in the rings mention above and then to a Near rail which is mount to receiver.

So has anyone mounted a 5-25x56 scope in 1" rings on AICS, McMillian or other stock with the barrel I want to use? Will I have enough clearance between barrel and scope to do this?

What base are you planning to use on the new build? Do you know how thick it is? Here is a picture of my Savage with standard Badger Max 50 rings...which are 1" in height:

There is plenty of clearance room....if your base is similar to my Ken Farrell 20 m.o.a one piece....which is slightly thicker than other one piece bases I've used in the past. I should also mention that this rifle has a "Bull" barrel...straight cylinder.

Depending how much time you have....I should be getting my custom rig back...which uses a McMillan A-5 stock, Rem 700 action and a barrel with dimensions very close to yours....I have another PH 5-25X scope to put on it....with rings that are 1" high...could send you a picture of that after I get it back from the smith.

Wayne, thank you for your response.

The base is an integral part of the action. It's the new bat tactical action sold by Jamie Dodson of Wolf Precision. I know it will have 20 moa built into it. I don't know if it makes any difference but the Badger rings USMC M40A3 which are 1" high.

Re: Premier Heritage scope owner's question

Should not be a problem..
Mine is on an UG Skunk Works action with 20 MOA base with a Medium Palma barrel. Due to the Palma taper I am able to use Seekins LOW rings... .92 inches I believe and I have room to use Butler Creeks caps.
Good Luck

Like MTETM's response...I think you'll be fine. I did mount the scope with the Max 50 rings on my custom Remington before I sent it off to be re-done. I didn't take pictures...but there was clearance. I'm using a NightForce 20 m.o.a. base and my rig had a Remington varmint contour barrel on it at the time...0.830" at the muzzle. I would think the integral base would raise the scope up as much as my Nightforce base does.

Good Luck....Sounds like a really nice stick you're building.
