There's a reason Amazon cannot break into the Chinese market. It's because the PRC has chosen Alibaba as their online retailer of choice. The choice is simple, Jack Ma, a chinese citizen was cofounder and is now member of the PRC.
So I doubt the PRC has any sway over Jeff Bezos because they kicked him out of the third largest market in the world.
What Bezos probably DOES do is donate to both sides of the political divide to make sure he's always got someone in power in his pocket to continue the massive tax advantages that Amazon receives.

Totally disagree Bezos is even a capitalist. He shows every indication of being a leftist totalitarian just like those who swoon over him. If he was actually a capitalist (and therefore a Republican) his Monopolistic trust would not be totally ignored by the left.
