Apparently these dickheads come out with a new list of words they want banished every year, because it hurts their feelings. It is what it is

It isn’t about political correctness or social outrage or dickheads with hurt feelings.

It is a decades-old tradition wherein they lampoon over-used and silly words and phrases that have achieved un-deserved popularity.

Take it for what it is and how it is meant. It is actually quite funny, as are some of the other traditions up there.

The folks up there in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula gotta do something to pass the time in the harsh grip of winter. Hell, on the first day of spring, they used to have a snowman burning celebration. (They might still, I haven’t been back there for years. When I went there it was still a college, not a university.)

Seems like this school needs a lesson in grammar itself. There is no word irregardless. One should use either "regardless" or "irrespective" in a sentence. Hard to banish a word that isn't a word. GOAT is an acronym. C'mon...higher learning my arse.

Maybe he knew it was the perfect trigger
Could be, since I was always poking at him. (In a good natured way!)

We were a good match. He basically left me alone to do my work knowing that I would do it well. And I went and did a bang-up job that made him look good to the higher up brass.

I see him now and again. After 34+ years, he still uses irregardless. Probably intentionally around me!

Seems like you didn't bother the read the article. If you did, you would have seen that the reason they are banishing it is exactly because there is no such word.

From the article: “It makes my hair hurt.” As well it should—because it’s not a word.

Hi Jacinda, admittedly, I just read the list and not the article.

they should put together a comprehensive list of all the words that set them off so you could recite them everyday at the beginning of class just to watch the snowflakes melt call it helping them or call it what ever they would it should be done .

language is reality, and if you want to recreate the world into something different, you have to change the language that we understand the world through.

When I was in high school people started mispronouncing “fort”, as in a strength, with “forte”, which is an Italian, musical term for louder, appearently because they thought it made their dumbasses sound smarter. I corrected all the “smart” people for years and sent their stupid asses to the dictionary. In about 2000 the dictionary was amended to this pronunciation as an alternative, and now it is fully changed. A lie repeated often enough becomes truth, and idiots prevail at least as much as they loose. Our universities are a pale shadow of what they once were. Real education is nearly dead.

I don’t think any of them actually read the article, including the OP. This isn’t the SJW, over-offended event that SH desperately wants it to be lol.
