Guys, last year I participated in a 1-d match where it rained approx 3” that day. It was a struggle all day, even though I had the sunshade on, kept covers over the glass and tried to keep rifle and optic covered. Constantly blowing and drying the lenses, etc. Looks like I get to shoot in rain again this week, so need some suggestions on how to overcome this issue. I’ve heard to use Rain-X on lenses, but concerned that will interfere with coatings. What do you all use on scopes, binos, LRFs? Thanks for any info and ideas.

I wouldn't use Rain-X or anything like that on my scopes. This same discussion comes up on photography forums. A hand held squeezeball puffer for photography will help to blow the moisture off of your lenses, then use a good lens cleaning cloth to dry as needed. Take plenty of proper lens cleaning cloths. Keep the scope covered until it's time to shoot.

Are you shooting the match at Big Piney?
