Having had the chance to thoroughly test a PR Heritage 5-25-- I am happy to report back that this is one HELLUVA scope. DISCLAIMER--No I am not an operator, and THANK GOD I don't do this stuff for a living!

Having just shot during both weekends at ASC and the train-up with Flea, I cranked the heck out of the knobs and held-over and milled more in 4 3 days then most guys do in a year or two.

The scope took everything I could throw at it without so much as a hiccup. Tracked perfectly and milled close enough for me to get first round hits at over 800 yards using my range estimates and G7 based ballistic data.

The Glass-- SUPERB! I have a comparable S & B 5-25, and side-by-side IMO the PRH gets the nod in clarity--but both are fantastic. Where the PRH shines is at both low and high magnification. While the S & B tends to lose a tiny bit of clarity at max and gets the annoying tunnel vision at low power-- THE PRH DOES NOT SUFFER THESE FLAWS! At ASC you are forced to crank down the power to find a tiny plate in a massive hillside, then crank it up to actually mill and shoot it. The clear glass through the entire power range made this a breeze.

Knobs- My first impression was that the elevation knob was WAY too mushy. I was right. When I called Jerry R at PR about this, he had me send it back for a look-see. That was monday. Today is friday and the scope is back and the clicks are now like snapping glass rods! Problem solved and the same CS I've come to expect from PR. While the S & B still gets a slight nod re: the clicks--it ain't a $1000 nod!

Tracking- Absolutely flawless. Cranked, held and milled over 250 shots without any issue whatsoever. As soon as I don't have a match to shoot--I'll give it a box test...IME both scopes track equally well.

Durability-- I beat the living crap out of this scope. From hours of gravity defying rain, to a 20 yard cow poop luge ride--to a black-flip off a quad--this scope took everything mother nature and I could dish out. There is not even a mark in the finish!!! The scope is a watertight tank and the finish bullet-proof!

I still don't like the ocular cover, but now with the installation of a BC, that too is solved.

Bottom line--If you are in the market for high end glass you owe it to yourself to check out the Heritage. Call Scott at Liberty and order one up.

The mushie clicks were my only complaint with my 3-15. They now feel like glass rods like yours.

Glad to know they can take a beating:)

Same question here. My knobs are mushy also. I though it was because the clicks were so close together as compared to my USO EREK knob.

No idea guys! Scopes are MAGIC "make bigger" tubes to me! For all I know they dropped it down the secret "make crispy" well and the fairies sprinkled pixie dust on it.

Shoot Jerry R a PM and he'll give you the low down. It bears repeating, PR's CS is about as good as it comes!

Me too! Just not crazy about yanking it now that I have it zeroed and sending it in (esp on my nickel-which I'm low on at the moment). Kinda shoulda been something that was taken care of on a $2500+ scope, just my opinion.

Re: PRH 5-25 ...Post ASC Report

I sent mine back to have the elevation knob looked at and they replaced the little clicker thing that falls into the grooves inside the knob. It has two of these. One that catches just for the little clicks and another that catches for the big clicks. The one in mine only had one spring pushing it into the groves and it was replaced with one that had two springs.

It is great that it only takes 2 day to get it back from them but dont they check these things before they send them out.

Re: PRH 5-25 ...Post ASC Report

They had problems with the metals they installed on some of the knobs. Ian from PH told me that one metal was softer than the other that's why the clicks degrade over time. Send it back and they will fix this problem. When I had mine back it was 100% times better.

Re: PRH 5-25 ...Post ASC Report

Shit mine was mush right out of the box. It is fixed now though. If someone wants one I think they are better off getting a used one that has already been sent back that way you dont have to mess with sending a new one back.

19scout77,

Thanks for the excellent report and feedback. I appreciate the business and the recommendation.

I know that Premier has a continuous improvement policy in the scopes design and components. Sometimes things don't turn out as intended but they ALWAYS make it right. Always.

As for the clicks, it's pretty fair to say that my sample size is bigger than anybody else's concerning the feel of the Heritage's elevation knob. I'll say that this last couple batches of scopes we've received have the most tactile feel ever.

I perfectly understand the desire for a perfect "out of the box" scope at that price point. However, another well known US scope company has a good proportion of their scopes go back for service or adjustment after initial delivery, often with beautiful results. And often without Hide member's complaints. As US scope companies continually refine their processes to make their scope better and cheaper for US shooters, a little "big picture" thinking goes a long way. We are all in this together.

I believe this was the solution to my click issue as well.

Re: PRH 5-25 ...Post ASC Report

I just picked up a PRH 3-15,. The clicks are fine.

The only quip I have with the scope is the flip covers,.. Especially the front one. I think I will try and find a replacement for them today.

Good to hear the CS is top notch there,. I would definatly buy another if I had the cash.

I am understanding of the big picture, and knew I was getting a scope on the cutting edge that may have some "tweaking" along the way, I guess I just like to gripe a little (and have done so for another well known US scope mfr).

All in all I am really happy with the PR, and will probably be sending mine in for an MTC adjustment. I'll run it for the next couple of matches and decide......

I am happy to hear that PR is listening and adjusting as they go, and that as each shipment comes in they are improving. Without feedback from end users, and more importantly the end users being heard and considered, we'd all be still shooting round mildots with 1/4" adjustments!

Thank you Scott for all the personal effort and personal touches that you add to the process of getting shooters what they really want!

I'm not doubting you, I just am hoping.
