I have a chance to pick up an illuminated Bushnell Elite 4200 3-12x50, FFP with mil dot reticle and mil adjustments. Scope is in excellent condition, and was bought last year. I know these have been discontinued and were clearanced out by Midway earlier this year, but what would be a fair price for a used model?

I think I paid 649 for mine during the midway sale. Therefore I'd say 600 would be realistic. Good scope my only complaint is a really tight eyebox at 12x.

That's one of the things I am curious about, is there really much difference between the older 4200 Tacticals and the newer models?

The new models have white paint instead of green. I also believe the new 6-24x model has more internal elevation. I don't believe elevation was increased with the 3-12x model.
