Any one have an idea on how much a NIB, OD green Tasco 6x, Israeli Defense Force scope is worth these days? I believe they were called the Project 6 scopes. They were similar to the NIMROD and Kahles scopes and have the same reticle.

Here are some pics, NIB, pretty solid, 26mm tube (not 25.4mm / 1 inch) doesn't feel like a Tasco...

Trying to get an idea on whether to keep it NIB for the collection, shoot it, sell it or use it as trade fodder.

i actually have never had a tasco scope go bad.....ever.

.300 win mag, .35/.300 mag wildcat, .3006's, had em on everything.

i've bent them, dented them, put them throough hell, and they still worked.

seems like tasco comes out with something cool that works, then they discontinue the model.

i've seen someone here ask about that particular model that you have, only i can't remember what thread it was. something is telling me it was in one of the billion super sniper threads.

I recall a thread about it as well

I think SWFA posted some pics of one they had in the collection,
might try pm'ing them for info....
nice looking scope...

there is only one question, where was it made? If Japan it will be GTG. Otherwise it might be gold or a turd. With Tasco Ive had both. I have a made in Japan 3x9x50 Airgun scope from and eon ago, and its been on several different guns over the years including an RWS 48, and the damn thing will still do the box.

Possibly check with SWFA to get more info. I think this is the thread in reference. HERE!

Me, I'd keep it.

Edit to add: I also read on another forum that Swaro made an exact replica of this scope that the guy bought for $400. That is of course just something I read on the internets so who knows.

Heard they were made in the 80's part of an IDF procurement, similar to the Nimrod 6x40 and the Kahles 6x42, all scopes had the 26mm tubes and the same reticle. As for price, anyones guess is as good as mine, Nimrods on Gunbroker are going for 300-800 depending on condition.

These don't pop up very often so it is difficult to put a value on them. Even when they were new they were pretty rare. They made them in black and green, green is the rarest. Tasco even made some 26mm rings in green for this scope.

Back in the 80's-90's I remember selling these for $600. At the same time the original Super Snipers were $800., B&L Tac was $900. and Leupold did not have any tactical scopes (all our Leupold Tactical scopes were supplied by Premier Reticle).

Just as a scope with no collector status it would be worth $200.-$300. today. Although it is rare it falls into the "who cares" category. You would need to find someone that collects military scopes to get top dollar for it and I think that would be $400.-$500.

Having the original packaging and instructions is a big plus. If you are interested in moving it we'll give you $500. for it on trade towards a SS 3-9x42 or SS 10x42HD.

Brownells carries ring reducers 30mm to 26mm. Link for those interested.
