Rifle Scopes price check - zeiss

i'm looking for the cheapest price for a stainless zeiss 3-9x40mm with a rapid z600 reticle.
scott at liberty optics can get them for $579.
i'm about to buy a browning A-bolt that comes with a nikon 3-9x40mm but i want something nicer and i really like the rapid z600 reticle.
i hope to get $200 for the NIB nikon and rings. that makes my price on the zeiss $400+/-. I couldnt swing that right now.
I know there is a guy on ebay that sells zeiss in high volume, elkhunter7 or something, anyone know how to contact him for a bargain?

on another subject, could someone recommend me medium stainless 1" rings for under $60? im almost positive talley doesnt make a 1 piece in stainless for an A-bolt long action....

Good luck with finding someone to beat Scotts price. You will be hard pressed to find someone with lower prices. Not saying it can't be done, but generally he is very very competitive on his pricing.

Watch what you get on ebay as I saw on here recently a thread about fake zeiss replicas being sold. I would certainly stay with a reputable dealer such as scott or another SH sponsor. Just looked through the same scope as mentioned while optics shopping at BPS and really liked it just not enough magnification for what I like, if they had the 4.5-14 I woulda bought it I did like the rapid z 600 though. Ended up with a burris signature select 4-16X44 with ballistaplex which to me was the next clearest scope under a zeiss in that 500-600 range.

will the scambay seller take the scope back and refund your money if you have a prob? I doubt it. Even if you can beat Scott's price, I would pay a bit extra to deal with him. I bet he would match a price anyway.

Cameraland hooked me up with a "sample" Zeiss 3-9x50 with the Z600 for 550 shipped. I couldn't see a mark on it anywhere, it was a case queen on display for a couple of months. It's not stainless, but you get the idea.

Stay away from Ebay, Cameraland and Liberty Optics are 2 of the nicest places to work with, SWFA is another. Funny how they're all 'Hide supporters and I know for a fact that Cameraland offers a discount to Sniper's Hide members.

I'll be going back to gr8fuldoug when I buy another Zeiss, that's for sure.

On the rings, are you asking for a base and ring combo for under 60 bucks or just the rings for that?

Burris XTR rings are about $40 for me from Grafs, I don't know if they have them in stock right now.

A Leupold base and ring set in 1" SS satin finish would run 60-70 bucks.

Yes, it was about $100 bucks or so off the price of an $1100 scope. Not a bad discount at all, he's definitely won a repeat customer in me.
