I spent over $1k a few years ago on a scope and it got me out to 1k yards with .308. I read a lot and in the end, I wanted to minimize the risk of getting a dud and having to start over. I'm now seeing <$250 scopes with lifetime warranty that a reviewer says:
Specs are good too at 8-32x44.
So have new entrants made this a much more competitive field or was it overkill to spend 3, 4, 500, 100+ for a scope?
What are we getting at each price level?
IE $300: [ feature / quality that isn't there at cheaper prices ]
$500: [ feature / quality that isn't there at cheaper prices ]
$750: [ feature / quality that isn't there at cheaper prices ]
$1,000: [ feature / quality that isn't there at cheaper prices ]
$1,500: [ feature / quality that isn't there at cheaper prices ]
$2,000: [ feature / quality that isn't there at cheaper prices ]
$2,500+: [ feature / quality that isn't there at cheaper prices ]
hitting steal at 1000 yards with no problems
