Or a big resounding "No Way !!" ?
I know ...run what you want , what you like...it's your life and perhaps that of others.....

A lot of seemingly great reviews out there for PA's ACSS HUD offerings and others.
I'm a fan of it. Like the systems.
Actually thinking running PA's on everything I own.
Is practical and relatively simple. Precision ....debatable I suppose .
Even Trijicon is running the reticle in some of their offernings.
PA has a great reputation of standing for and behind their "outsourced" manufactured optics.
Can hardly consider them a budget option anymore. More like "high value" I suppose.
No doubt definitely suitable for recreational and competition usage.
However, HD or Duty use ?
Are they good enough to depend on ?

I like alot of their reticles and i wished the ACSS was available for the TA11 series as its the only ACOGs that I use. With that i would not consider any PA optic for duty unless youre talking about their platinum stuff. Its made by LOW so its made with a higher standard and LOW stuff is typically tuff!

Duty rifles get banged around, dropped and any other thing that you can think of. When that happens you do not need to wonder if your shots will be off or not. Especially when lives are on the line. Durability comes with a cost and that is usually a high price point. Thats why Aimpoints, Trijicons, NFs etc...cost so much. There is a big difference between being suitable for the range and or hunting versus duty. Know the difference and choose wisely. Not all of my rifles have what i would call duty rated optics but every rifle I consider serious does. I have a couple that are for recreational use and the optics reflect that. Nothing wrong with PAs other optics for recreational use but there is no way I would use them for duty.

Scopes or red dots?

For duty use, I'd stick with Aimpoint, Eotech, and Trijicon as that's what's been proven in the field. Scope wise, the Platinum line is GTG IMO. Made in Japan by LOW, as stated above. I have one and like it very much. Comes down to reticles. Many around here don't like the PA reticles. I do.

I have multiple 3x ACSS Prisms on my different 7.62x39's and ARs. I have a lot of rounds through them as well, not sure how many but I shoot steel with no issues to 520 almost every weekend on my range. I have had ZERO issues with the prism itself, used strelok pro to line up the reticles after I zeroed and got my ave velocity from a lab radar and ev's from my kestral. Specifically I have 8" steel and use wolf HP or Tula in my 7.62's and a mix on my ARs. MyvAR's tend to run out of gas at 400 due to primary round is a handloaded 55gr sp and I tend to shoot 10.5 or 12 inch barrels. Once zeroed, they haven't come off except once. The prism came off the factory mount. My fault. I took the screws out of the bottom of all them and loctited them in, torqued them down. Very happy with the 3x prisms I use. No other issues. Glass is "good enough" also.
