Prime 6.5 brass

Finally have my rifle the way I want it and have 600pieces of prime 6.5 creedmoor brass. Looking to get ready to tackle the next phase of the project which is reloading for it. Wondering what kind of luck you guys are having with prime brass as far as life, consistency ect. Thanks Brent

I’ve used Prime brass for as long as Prime has been around, but I’m only on my 4th firing. That has more to do with the fact that I have about 500 pieces of Prime, 500 of Alpha, and like 600 or so of Hornady, so I use it for only one rifle. I think it’s good brass. I wouldn’t put it on the Lapua or Alpha level of consistency, but it’s a bit better than Hornady. Case capacity is lower than Hornady by a few tenths, so start low and work your way up to find your max. I accidentally had a piece get into my Hornady stash and loaded it to my Hornady charge weight. The difference in sound and recoil was noticeable and I had distinct pressure signs.

Prime brass is norma I believe so its good stuff. Thats one big selling point on it, its a good price and youre left over with great brass to boot.

I appreciate the replies. I'll be happy with 6 firings or more so we'll see how it goes. That will be more then enough to burn out my barrel. Then I'll probably go to lapua brass. Brent
