Anybody know who makes a tool to crimp primers in?I get much better results with crimped in primers (using 5.56 lc brass) which lets me run higher pressures which the 5.56 is made for.
And I swage my fired brass which leaves the materal there for it to be crimped agian.

Re: Primer Crimping

I have seen this question before, and the consensus was leave the crimping of primers to the manufacturers. Evidently, they have special hydraulic machines that crimp when the primer is inserted.
I agree that hammering a crimp onto a seated primer even in an unloaded round would be a bit to much for my nerves.

You might try wolf primers and a primer sealant (nail polish or commercial sealant) to get a little tighter seating. Wolf seem to be slightly oversized and harder to seat.

Re: Primer Crimping

I use RCBS pocket swedge die to make pockets tigh after multi firings, ajustment is a feel thing you can over do it and bend rod of the die or tighten the pockets too tight when using Russian primers, go slow.
