I have Peterson 375 Chey brass and after 1 firing and completely clean primer pocket I get a shallow seating. This happens about every 40 rounds give or take. Primer sets just past brass bottom but is noticeable when you set it on a level surface upright. It causes changes in my ES/SD which is to be expected. Any thoughts on this? No matter how clean I get primer pocket, primer bottoms out but not when brass new.

Federal 215m's. RCBS hand primer tool. .
Thanks,
Aaron

Hi Aaron, Good to see you on here! I can't explain why it happens, but I had the same issue when I used the Sinclair hand priming tool. I always thought people were crazy for spending this kind of money for a priming tool until I got one. Every one comes out the same now. If you can find one of the older CPS lites, they are a lot cheaper but work pretty much the same way.
