Checking to see if anyone can help me troubleshoot an issue.
i Went to work up a load for a Gen 1 DTA SRS with a Gen 2 bolt today. It's a brand new gun, never fired.
When I pulled the trigger, click....nothing. Ran the bolt, tried again, nothing.
Took the round out and it looks like I'm getting a very light primer strike. I was using CCI BR2 primers. Tried several rounds, all the same....no ignition.
I uniform my primer pockets so I was thinking maybe the primer was seated a tad deep. It's never been an issue with any other rifle but I figured I'd try a new piece of brass without changing the primer pocket. So I took an empty brass, inserted a primer and chambered it.....click.....nothing.
This time it didn't even leave a mark on the primer, nothing.
Any ideas?
Here's the bolt face with the firing pin pushed all the way forward.
Here's the primer.....like I said, barely touched.
I'm gonna call DTA Monday but I'd like to get a head start on this or get some ideas to discuss with their support over the phone.....thanks.
