Having a harder time than expected finding answer on this so looking for confirmation. Maybe I'm just search-stupid today. I'm brand new to reloading and have been firing Hornady ELDM and AG 140s out of my 6.5CM for a while and kept every case so I'm sitting on hundreds in anticipation of reloading. Question: What primers do I need? From what I can gather it's large rifle. Beyond that, are the CCIs recommended over Federals?

Large Rifle Primers. Since you're just starting out your learning curve is nearly vertical.

Either Federal Large Rifle or CCI large rifle primers (match or not) will do well. Make sure you have read ALL of the sticky's in the reloading section. There are nuggets of golden knowledge in there. I still re-read them every few months if I have an issue with my loads.

Everyone has their favorites. Just pick one thats readily available and work up a load. I shoot Federal 210Match primers in my match ammo, just because, but I really don't see any difference with the cheaper non match Federals. I'm also a big fan of CCI.

CCI BR2 LRPs worked great for me on creedmoor, this load was 2810 FPS with an SD of 6FPS, 26" barrel.
