Since Federal GMM large rifle primers are just about unobtainable ? , what primers do you use in their place to achieve similar load characteristics with the powder/bullet recipe that has proven to be THE ! best load for your application ?
CCI's seem to be more available but are they as good and if so are the BR's the primer of choice for precision loads ! and how will they effect a load that has proven exceptional with FED GMM 's ?
Thanks

Regular fed 210 in the blue box. I found the their is no difference in performance between 210m box and the 210 just the price you pay. If you want to pay the $100 for the 210m be my guest.

I use the blue box primers for my 300WM and they work just fine , but even the 210 blues are becoming hard to come by and I would never pay 100 per 1000 for any manufacturer . $$$ 54.00/1000 for CCI BR2 is hard enough to digest . I've always used Federals since I started re-loading 27 years ago with the exception of CCI's when I started loading for my AR .
Side note , why are the GMM s so scarce anyway ?

I mainly use Tula LRP and Federal 210's. If I couldn't get either, I would use CCI 200's, I've had good luck with them in the past. I would use them before using Winchester or Remington.

Winchester had a issue a couple of years ago with LRP primers piercing / flaming through the edges due to a manufacturing flaw. I won't go near them. A couple of my rifle bolts still have torch marks from them. I had the same issue years ago with Remington 91/2's.

But a couple hundred CCI 200's and try them out. You usually can find them locally.

CCI 200's have served me well for a long time. I switched to 210M, mostly because all of the bigger kids used them, and saw no improvement in my ammo. I will continue to use the 210M's that I have until they are gone and then its back to CCI.

I've been using CCI br2 for a while now, I just switched to 210m because I picked up about 12k from Cabelas for $35 per 1k. I'll continue to use them as long as they are available just because they are cheaper than CCI be and work just as good.

I've heard sellior and belliot primers are good I bought a couple thousand in small rifle and large rifle to try. At $20 per thousand out the door I wasn't complaining. Cabelas has them. I personally think regular ccis are horrible and I won't pay for the brs. I like the federal but can never find 210m I have some 215m but I save those for the .338 lapua.
