Pockets clean. Easy insertion. Winchester brass. Do not remember this on my large primer/ Lapua brass. Those are hard to insert and flatten. These 205’s in Winchester brass crescent shape.

Upon closer inspection the plastic insert holding the shell holder looks worn. Movement the Lrp insert does not exhibit. Think I have a possible answer. Ordering the part now.
This is an RCBS hand tool. Two piece plastic inserts.

Good call but this is 223. White insert, small rod.
In this case it appears the insert is worn. Rod contacts the base partially. Forces the primer to the base then deflects off the base of the case. Smiges at an angle of sorts to its final seat.

If they made one that had a tray so you would not handle every primer I would buy one in a second.

Yea, that seems to be the major thing that some folks don’t like. For me it has never been an issue, 1000s of rounds. I do make sure my hands are clean and dry. I do a quick wipe with alcohol for good measure. Probably overkill.

For me the precision and consistency is well worth the extra effort. I have worked with my hands all my life so feeding it primers is pretty darn quick.

The depth of the primer is set mechanically every time, instead of by pressure or feel. On my reloading sheet I spec the depth of the primer below the base.

I went this route after a light primer strike while hunting. The primer was seated just short and moved deeper into the pocket. Later at the range it fired perfectly on the second attempt.
