I have a Co-Ax press and I use the RCBS hand primer tool. Just seem quicker and has a good feel.

I do not use the priming feature on the top of my Bonanza co-ax or my Forster co-ax.
I use a Forster priming tool.
I load the tubes with an RCBS primer tray lid milled out for the thickness of the bottom of the tube. I clamp the tube to the tray lid with a clothespin type clamp.

I've tried it just to seat a few primers and see how it worked. I still use the Lee hand primer. I like to feel the primers being seated.

I use the RCBS Universal hand primer (with the square tray and co-ax style universal shell holder) to prime instead of my co-ax. Just quicker and easier.

I prefer the Lee Autoprime for priming everything that doesn't go through the progressive. Priming by press just doesn't let you "feel" the primer seat. This can cause many of the "crushed" primers you see in handload boxes. The stress I use to prime is contained in 2 fingers and thumb on the Autoprime tool. For my money probably the best $10 you can spend on anything LEE.

I actually like to prime on my Coax but it's the only single stage press I like to prime on. I can feel the primers seating on the coax but could not on my Rockcrusher or Redding Big Boss. I also have the RCBS hand primer and use it when I am priming over 50 cartridges at a time.

Not sure why anyone would be concerned with crushing primers on the press. It seats them ALL .005 below flush. As long as you do your part and load the primer correctly and smooth motion on the press handle it's a non-issue.
