Suppressors Pro 9 or G34

Re: Pro 9 or G34

Like I tell everyone...you NEED to go shoot both. The only reason to buy the pro is the barrel length. The trigger is still a little gritty, but you can always change it with the APEX sear...I highly recommend it. The G34, as well as all Glocks, are great pistols. You get the benefit of the longer barrel with a weight right about the same as a G17. I really don't think you can go wrong, but they have different shooting feels so you will need to find out for yourself.

that's it? No reasons behind it?

Grip angle, more than likely. That's the biggest difference between the two firearms, and the thing that will effect how it feels in your hands and track when shooting.

Pick one and shoot the piss out of it. They are both good firearms. It will be the shooting the piss out of it that will make any difference.

Re: Pro 9 or G34

I would get the M&P 9L, replace the sights, and put the Apex trigger in it.

If I could my money out of the Pro I have right now, I'd do the same thing.

The M&P is a great gun. I wish I didn't love a single action trigger so much, because I'd probably shoot my M&P more. Either way, there's one loaded gun in this house/room, and it's not a single action--it's my M&P.

The Glock really has a long way to go to catch up with the M&P. I don't even think the Gen4 is an effective answer to the XDM and/or M&P. Both offer features that Glock is woefully behind the curve on.

It makes no sense to me as to why Glock doesn't make a gun with a grip that you can actually change the shape of, when there's nothing but dead empty space behind the magazine in their grip, which could facilitate an XDM-like interchangeable grip if they actually wanted to make the engineering effort.

I think they're fooling themselves if they don't think it'd be worth it, either. A Glock is in almost every cop's holster. Making the gun fit more types of hands without interrupting the legendary Glock reliability would make it very difficult for anybody to compete with them.

I'd still pick the M&P because the trigger is way nicer and I prefer a more vertical grip angle, but if the Glock would fix its ergonomic issues, I think S&W and Springer would have a tough time competing!

Re: Pro 9 or G34

I shoot the Glock better. It may be due to more experience with the Glocks, I really want to like the M&P and it may improve with use. The weak reset of the M&P feels strange to me as well, I may have to look at the mods available.

You can get a much better trigger out of an M&P than you can a Glock. When Glock trigger jobs get down around 2 pounds they seem to get mushy and not crisp. My M&P is still clean. Not 1911 clean, but pretty close.

The mag release is easier for me to hit.

For me the front sight seems to track better. With a G-17 or 34 I can sometimes have a hard time tracking the front sight no matter what bullet weight I try. With the M&P, I can track it all the way through recoil and it allows me to call my shots better.

When my wife shoots it I can change out the grip backstraps to a different size/shape to one that is better for her hand.

All that said, it Steyr made their M9 with a little longer sight radius I would go back to it in a heartbeat.

Re: Pro 9 or G34

Everyone has their own opinion or own favorite gun. They are both great pistols, but YOU need to check out and try to shoot both to see what gun fits you best. It's all about hand ergonomics when comparing two equally durable and reliable pistols, IMO.

My hand fits the Glock better. I shoot an OD 34. If the M&P fit better, i'd shoot that.

Re: Pro 9 or G34

Glock, M&P,sig saur,HK, etc. etc. etc. they all are very reliable firearms. If you have the chance shoot them all first then decide. For me ive always been parcial to glocks, but this is strictly my opinion.
